Iran in the end of II mill. B.C. according Archaeological data. Early History of Iranian Tribes. Defended at the Leningrad State University, 1978.

Habilitation Dissertation

Ancient Iran before Empiries (IX-VI centuries B.C.). The History of Median Kingdom. Defended at the S.-Petersburg Branch of the Institute of Oriental Studies, 2007.

Academic Positions

1972 - 1998 - Junior Researcher, Researcher, Senior Researcher at the Leningrad/S.-Petersburg Branch of the Institute of Oriental Studies.

From 1998 up to present - Head of the Department of Ancient Eastern Studies at the same Institute;

Major Research Interests:

Archaeology of the Ancient Near East; the History of Assyrian, Urartian, Median Kingdoms; Historical Geography of Ancient Iran and neighbouring territories; Problems of History and Chronology of Cimmerian and Skythian Invasion into the Ancient Near East.
