In 1963 graduated from Leningrad State University, the Department of Asian and African studies, the group of Burmese philology.
In the same year was admitted to the Leningrad Branch of the Institute of Oriental Studies (now the IOM) as a doctoral student. After finishing the doctoral course joined the Institute's staff as a junior researcher.
In 1982 defended the PhD dissertation entitled Nominalization and Substantivization of Verbs and Verbal Constructions in Burmese [Номинализация и субстантивация глаголов и глагольных конструкций в бирманском языке].
From 1982 to 2003 worked at the Department of Oriental Manuscripts and Documents as a researcher, took an active part in the annual academic sessions of the Institute.
In 2005 got back to the above-mentioned Department, retired in 2012.
Published a few papers on various aspects of Modern Burmese Grammar.
