In the article published in Manuscripta Orientalia in September
1996, we declared our intention to publish test
results for the ENTRAP software, a program intended for
the semi-automatic analysis of hand-written script. A large
Qur’ānic fragment (call number E20), held at the
St. Petersburg Branch of the Institute of Oriental Studies,
