The worship of Gods of Wealth is not only one of the most interesting of Chinese cults but is also one of those best illustrated by the popular pictures which are on sale every New Year, that being the time when special honour is paid to Gods of Wealth as well as to other gods in the Chinese pantheon. The God of Wealth is called Ts'ai Shen, of which the English rendering is an exact translation.
